Texifornia Quote of the Day

Around October you will become very tired of summer and wish it would go away.  Then one morning you will awaken and it will be 40 [degrees] outside.  All the leaves will have departed the trees overnight and will be sitting in the yard, demanding to be raked.

Today's Quote

"Legend has it that the 405 got its name because the only time it isn't choked is between 4:04 and 4:06 in the morning."

My Favorite Texas Song

There was a song I stumbled onto a while ago by the Austin Lounge Lizards that is hilarious. It's called "Stupid Texas Song"-- if you were still visiting when I had the old Texifornia site at geocities up you might recognize this stanza from it:

One more stupid song about Texas,
You've heard it all before so sing along
Biggest belt buckles and boasts, love that big old Texas toast,
Let's sing another stupid Texas song

Well, I just visited the Austin Lounge Lizards Website again, and while I can't find the lyrics anymore, they have a MP3 clip of the song up--you can find it under Music in the "Listen" section on the left hand sidebar. Go check it out...it's hilarious!

More Texifornian Politics

Interesting Texifornian political tid-bits browsing the blogs today:

Found a blog by a Californian in Texas keeping an eye on politics in the two largest states in the country. (11/20/06 - She's now back blogging at her regular blog--Blue in Texas)

And...this quote by George W. Bush:

"I was raised in the West. The west of Texas. It's pretty close to
California. In more ways than Washington, DC is close to California."
